Description
CHARGE THE HUNTER VALLEY
EV tourism opportunities for Hunter Valley businesses
A free education session in collaboration with the Hunter Valley Wine & Tourism Association.
As more Australians switch to electric vehicles, the way visitors choose where to stay, dine and explore is changing.
For the Hunter Valley, this presents an opportunity to attract more EV visitors and ensure they can confidently explore everything our region has to offer.
For wineries, accommodation providers, restaurants, cafés, cellar doors and tourism operators, destination charging is becoming an important part of attracting visitors, increasing dwell time and enhancing the guest experience.

FAQs
- Do I need to already have an EV charger to attend?
No. This session is relevant whether you already have EV chargers installed or are simply exploring whether EV charging could work for your business. We will cover both options and help you understand the best next step for your situation.
- I already have EV chargers. Do I need to pay to list them on ivygo?
There is no upfront cost or lock-in contract to list your charger on ivygo. ivygo only takes a small percentage when your charger is booked and used. You remain in control of pricing, availability and who can access the charger.
- I currently offer EV charging for free. Why should I start charging?
Many venues offer free charging without realising it can become a missed opportunity. Most EV drivers expect to pay for charging and are happy to do so when it is convenient. Charging helps you recover electricity costs, manage demand and turn charging into a revenue-generating service while still attracting EV-driving guests.
- What if I am not sure EV charging is right for my business?
That is exactly why this session exists. The goal is not to convince every business to install chargers, but to help you make an informed decision based on your location, customers and parking setup.
- Will there be practical advice and real examples?
Yes. The session includes local case studies from venues already onboarded with ivygo, including Adina Vineyard and Olive Grove in Lovedale, alongside practical guidance and time for questions so you can learn directly from businesses already offering EV charging in the Hunter region.
- Can I take action on the day?
Yes. Businesses will be able to express interest in listing existing chargers, explore installation options or access exclusive offers available to attendees.
