Charged Particles: Jazz with a Spark

Please join us for an evening of beautiful music with Charged Particles featuring tenor saxophonist Todd Dickow.

Charged Particles features three of the country's virtuosos in the acoustic and electric jazz arena. Murray Low is a keyboard wizard with dazzling Latin-jazz technique and imaginative improvisational skills. Aaron Germain is an inventive and sophisticated acoustic and electric bassist. Along with fiery drummer Jon Krosnick, these players are making some of the most electrifying jazz in the country today.

Joining the trio at the Mazza Castle is tenor saxophonist Tod Dickow. Tod has appeared with celebrated artists, including Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, Joe Henderson, Bobby Hutcherson, Jackie & Roy, Harry Connick Jr, Steve Allen, Terry Gibbs, Frank Sinatra Jr., Dave Brubeck, and many more. His playing has been recognized by soloist awards at the Pacific Coast Jazz Festival and he was awarded the Outstanding Soloist award by Down Beat magazine.

Tod began performing in the Bay Area in the late '70s with Don Haas and Gus Gustovson, and remains a powerful voice on the Bay Area scene today. Tod's playing and compositions are powerfully influenced by Michael Brecker, nicknamed "Dr. Sax" who has earned 15 Grammy Awards.
