Keynote Speaker
Dr Mark Bassett - Associate Professor and Academic Lead (Artificial Intelligence), Charles Sturt University, will discusses: 'The evolving challenges and opportunities of AI in education'.
Dr Mark Bassett is a recognised leader in AI strategy, governance and responsible use in higher education. At Charles Sturt University, he leads AI initiatives and oversees academic quality, standards and integrity across teaching and learning.
Alumni Expert Panel
The evening will also feature an alumni panel discussion, featuring Kate Carruthers and Krysti-Lee Patterson showcasing professionals working in AI across a variety of sectors. Panellists will share real-world insights into how AI is being implemented in their respective fields, followed by an interactive audience Q&A session.

Dr Mark Bassett is a recognised leader in AI strategy, governance and responsible use in higher education. At Charles Sturt University, he leads AI initiatives and oversees academic quality, standards and integrity across teaching and learning. He is the creator of the award-winning S.E.C.U.R.E. GenAI Use Framework, adopted internationally to guide ethical AI use, and his research has shaped sector understanding of the risks of AI detection technologies. With extensive global experience across higher education systems, Dr Bassett brings practical insight into how organisations can adopt AI in ethical, strategic and effective ways.
