Hailing from Kiama, NSW on Dharawal country, The Water Runners have taken their special blend of bluegrass-infused Australian folk to festivals and venues around Australia. Their songs are rich in melody and storytelling, reflecting the landscape of their experiences with a sound that is distinctively Australian and ranging from the serious to the seriously fun.

The band's performances and song-writing skills have earned them national recognition including various song-writing awards; ‘People’s Choice’ finalists in 2021 and runners up in 2025 at the Australian Folk Music Awards; as well as 'Best Band' in the 2020 National Busking Championships.
