The Listening Room Gig Guide are so proud to offer Sister duo Charm of Finches from Melbourne Making haunted tunes about love, grief and whispering trees; indie folk with many stringed things, awash with seamless blood harmonies traversing melancholy and wonder in equal measure.
Winners of the 2021 Music Victoria Best Folk Act and 2021 Australian Folk Music Awards Youth Act of the Year, their music has featured on the ABC TV and nominated for the 2020 Music Victoria Best Folk Album Award and 2020 & 2021 Australian Music Prize for their album "Your Company".
Their 2019 sophomore album "Your Company" won the 2020 Independent Music Awards' Best Folk/Singer-Songwriter Album .
Mabel and Ivy Windred-Wornes grew up busking old time tunes and singing on festival stages around Australia.
They released their third full length album WONDERFUL OBLIVION in October 2021 through New York-based label AntiFragile Music to critical acclaim.
Supported on the night by Biddy Healy, a singer/songwriter and composer/arranger from Melbourne, newly arrived in Brisbane after several years in the US where she played to sold out crowds. Her debut album, Salt River Bed (2020) was recorded in Brooklyn NY with a 9-piece band of the city's finest, including Grammy Award-winning violinist Sara Caswell. Drawing on the landscape of the Sonoran desert, Salt River Bed is a poignant response to climate change and our urgent need to reconnect with each other and with the land.
