Event description
Ensuring decent work alongside climate action and environmental sustainability is critical if we are to achieve sustainable and inclusive development. This talk discusses what decent work is, how do we achieve it and why it is so integral to mainstreaming climate action and achieving the SDGs.
The talk draws on findings from a research collaboration between ISF and the International Labour Organisation in Asia-Pacific, including projects in the textile and garment sector as well as others focused on just energy transition.
About the Presenter: Samantha Sharp Institute of Sustainable Futures
Dr Samantha Sharpe is Research Director at the Institute for Sustainable Futures. Her research focuses on the intersect of the world of work and climate change. This includes understanding the process of business and industrial transition to sustainability, at the firm, sector, and labour market levels. Her particular focus is innovation processes, public policy and employment implications of Just Transition.
