Event description

The Community Housing Council of South Australia has developed the Leadership Workshop Series to harness the talents of leaders within sector to shape the future of the community housing sector, to build capacity and again raise the bar.

This Leadership Workshop is on the topic of Financial Stewardship, facilitated by Professor Chris Leishman, Director, Centre for Housing, Urban and Regional Planning, University of Adelaide.

We will explore examples of best practice in the non-profit housing sector across Australia, and internationally. This will cover aspects such as:

  • What kinds of accounting and financial reporting systems are being used, or should be used;
  • Who are non-profits accountable to, and how does this shape reporting requirements;
  • What ideas could be borrowed from other jurisdictions and piloted in the non-profit sector in South Australia?
  • What are the barriers to experimentation and innovation?

The workshops aim to foster a spirit of collaboration and knowledge sharing across the sector by recognising that all parts of the sector and external industry experts have a valuable contribution to make to policy and industry development.

As a valued member of the community housing sector, we seek your support for these workshops and the opportunity they will provide for us to evolve the sector to assist and transform the lives of South Australians in need.
