This twilight workshop has been designed by an experienced HSC marker to best prepare students for the 2023 HSC. In this workshop, students will cover exam technique and strategy, particularly in a Module 8 context and finding links with other modules. Students will be:

identifying overarching themes and interrelationships amongst the content
addressing Working Scientifically
unpacking difficult content
addressing common mistakes and misconceptions
developing strategies for extended response questions
unpacking new practice questions
evaluating sample responses
learning what the markers are looking for

All students will walk away with a variety of resources.

Workshop Delivered by Dr Col Harrison

Col began teaching in Sydney's golden west in 1988. Since then he has worked in the public and private sector as well as holding several roles in teacher training and development with Peer Support Australia and Beaconhouse in the United Arab Emirates. He has HSC marking experience in Biology and Chemistry and has a YouTube channel to support flipped learning in the classroom. Col is the current Head of Science and Leader of Professional Learning at St Philip's Christian College, Port Stephens.
