Save the Date: Protective Rain Covers on Cherry Orchards
This event has passed Get tickets
Event description
Hear from Cherrybird Orchard how they're using protective rain covers to prevent rain induced cracking in cherry crops, and the implications for their orchard operations.
NSW DPI Horticulture and Digital Agriculture teams have been monitoring conditions under the covers to understand the impacts the covers have on cherry quality and production. You'll hear about the sensors that were installed for this season and the telemetry systems we're using to collect and analyse the data.
This orchard walk is a chance to talk through the findings of the first seasons data, and what's planned for the next years.
You’ll hear from:
- Jessica Fearnley, Temperate Fruit and Nut Development Officer
- Dr Allen Benter, Technical Specialist Digital Agriculture
