Explore the beauty, variation and natural imperfection of our local Eucalypt species through the medium of watercolour.
Botanical artist Cheryl Hodges will take you through a series of techniques including wet-in-wet and wet on dry and show you how to build up intensity of colour through layers of watery paint and add in final details with a dry brush technique.
You’ll learn about the different kinds of watercolour papers and explore some tips and tricks to fix common mistakes and clean up little messes. You’ll leave the workshop with your own perfectly imperfect eucalypt sketches and some new skills to carry into your own work!
MEETING PLACE: As the library opens at 10am – we’ll be meeting at the café entrance, rather than the front door- this is the before and after hours access area. The workshop will then be in the Community Studio space.
