Join the Elizabeth River Project for an exciting opportunity to contribute to scientific research and environmental monitoring! This free Chesapeake Water Watch workshop aims to share water quality monitoring tools with and invite community members like you to help monitor water quality in the Chesapeake Bay.


During this workshop, you’ll learn to use simple scientific equipment and smartphone apps to collect water quality data. You can use this data yourself and help scientists train satellites monitoring the Chesapeake Bay. 

The Chesapeake Water Watch team from the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center will be leading the workshop. Whether you’re a high school student, a curious adult, or a seasoned environmental enthusiast, this workshop is open to everyone interested in making a positive impact on our local ecosystem.

The Chesapeake Water Watch is a joint project between the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) and the City College of New York (CCNY). Chesapeake Water Watch is made possible by the NASA Citizen Science for Earth Systems Program (CSESP).
