- New and exciting format for playing chess!
- Suitable for Adults and Juniors.
- Players can come and go as they please.
- Close to library, shops, cafe, and train station.
- Large variety of abilities and people to play against.
- Time control is flexible - play against others in blitz, rapid, or longer!
- Emphasis on playing, having fun, and socialising.
- No prize event - the prize is playing!
- A great way to prepare for ACF rated tournaments.
- Opportunity to learn from advanced players.
- Safe and friendly atmosphere.
Players will be paired with an Arena method with other players of similar skill. Players can play as many games as they like. This means you can arrive later than the event start time and leave whenever you like.
As a no-prize event, the reward is playing, having fun, socialising, and gaining experience. The aim is that anyone can turn-up regardless of ability and start playing against people they might not have had the opportunity to play before.
Players can pause between games to have a break. There will be staff to assist with clocks, game discrepancies, and any other issues. Parents are encouraged to stay and play for free. Please note that the organisers assume no responsibility for your child if you choose to drop-and-go.
This event is rated but not ACF rated, but we are using our own rating system to determine a player's level in order to correctly match players of a similar level.
Event Staff: Paul Harris, Georgina Harris, John Pimenov, Dylan Gough, Daniel Clarke, Keegan O'Mahoney, Josh Davoll, Shannon Koh, Jamie Laubbacher.
Proudly supported by Kingsley Chess Club and the Chess Association of Western Australia.
