Sun, 25 May, 10am - 11am AEST

Event description

These are monthly sessions offered by donation at Atisha Centre.

Aimed at Primary School children aged between 5 and 12 years.

The sessions run from 10:00am to 11:00am

The basic format of the session:

How to meditate

We usually begin with talking to the children about the benefits of meditation as well as asking them what they understand meditation to be.

We go through the sitting posture and simple breathing techniques.

Inspiring Story Time

We use a story based on a theme and then we do a meditation based on the theme. Other meditations can include visualisation and imagination.

We also do a couple of activities that are fun and provide tools to help with focus and that the children can do at home whenever they need to.

Basically, it is very fluid as all groups are different and children are very open.

Learning tools for a healthy happy life

We find that it is helpful for children to feel empowered and have confidence to be able to deal with their thoughts and emotions in positive ways.

Always keeping in mind loving kindness, caring and respect for all living beings.

What to bring ?

If you wish, please bring something special to share - food, flowers, drinks, ideas.

Parents to bring a snack or drink for your child to have after the session.
