Children's Voices - SHINE for Kids Exhibition Launch
Description
Children's Voices - Exhibition Launch
SHINE for Kids warmly invites you to the launch of Children's Voices: Sharing the Experiences of Children with a Parent in Prison.
Please join us as we launch Children's Voices: Experiences of Children with a Parent in Prison.
Through moving stories and artwork, the exhibition shares the perspectives of children with a parent in prison - children whose lives are profoundly impacted, yet whose voices are too often unheard.
Featured works include an animation of our children's picture book The Sun Still Shines; Behind the Sentence, a projection artwork by Melbourne artist Paula Mahoney featuring children’s reflections from our research partnership with Monash University; and artworks created by young people with lived experience of the impact of incarceration on families.
Launching during Children’s Week, Children's Voices seeks to raise awareness of the impact of parental incarceration and bring attention to an issue that remains largely hidden.
