On April 27th, join us at Mutiny Cafe located at 2 S Broadway, as we celebrate the release of "Chipped Nail Polish," a poignant collection of poetry by the enigmatic wordsmith, so__to__speak.
About the Artist:
so__to__speak is an unprofessional poet who believes in the power of the written word to illuminate the invisible strings that tie us all together. Her poetry focuses on using lyrical light to help our shadows feel welcome instead of hidden through open and honest talk about our mental illnesses, our addictions, our trauma, and our grief. When she isn’t exposing her deepest secrets for all the world to see, she can be found playing with her iguanas or learning existential truths from young children.
Overview of the Book:
For the wounded, healing is a carousel in a dark carnival. We revisit our marred memories over and over, but each time we go around, we find new perspective. And when we mount the horror horses together, we find that the ride may be rugged, but it is free. In Chipped Nail Polish, we'll find beauty in our ugly, and stars in our scars.
