Event description

Chisholm St is a live performance space on Wadawurrung country that features musicians and spoken word artists from Ballarat and the region. It is an intimate foray into fascinating corners of classical music.

To launch the 2022 series of Chisholm St concerts, join director and pianist, Bronwyn Blaiklock, at the iconic Ballarat Trades Hall, Camp Street. The evening features the premiere screening of a short film, Intimacy in Isolation, inspired by and created during pandemic lockdowns by Bronwyn Blaiklock in collaboration with filmmaker Erin M McCuskey and dancer Lily Paskas. The film received funding from Regional Arts Victoria.

Attendees will also be first to hear about the diverse works on offer at Chisholm St this year and meet some of the performers, such as songstress Amie Brulee, flautist Sarah Goodbourn, poet Megan J Riedl, and more.

Drinks will be available at bar prices. Seating is capped at 80 and attendees will need to verify their vaccination status upon entry. Children 16 years and under do not need to purchase a ticket.

What is Chisholm St?
Chisholm St emerged from the 2020 Victorian lockdown as a venture to support local musicians. It provides a paid opportunity for performers to share their craft in a supportive space. Each concert series offers up to four repeat sessions over two days and is a rare developmental opportunity for any performer. Pandemic permitting, Chisholm St will host six one-hour concert programs in 2022, commencing in April.
