CHOIR4ADAY Singing Workshop Murwillumbah
Choir4aDay is a unique event where people come together in a beautiful space for a couple of hours only to form a choir!
This workshop is an introduction for the Murwillumbah and surrounds before a new Big Voice Choir is established in early 2024.
Choir4ADay welcomes people of all singing abilities, making it accessible and non-judgemental. It provides an opportunity for creativity, from simple warm ups to harmonising and arranging. Learning and performing the songs allows participants to experience a sense of accomplishment.
Choir4ADay combines music, community, self-expression and the joy of creating something from nothing together, even if it’s just for a day!
It’s a simple concept, that is all about community participation through singing.
Led by experienced choir director and songwriter, Janet Swain, the day will begin with a bunch of breathing and vocal exercises, leading to some musical warm ups and activities.
What people say:
there is an unexplainable joy that comes from singing with a large group of people compared to singing on your own….. and it’s a great way to meet people and make new friends.
It is a time when I can forget about all my worries and there is nothing more beautiful than a room full of voices singing their hearts out. 💕
Janet Swain understands the power of singing and songs to create community and build resilience and joy. Research shows that group singing can forge bonds quickly and effectively. Janet’s experience in working with large groups, combined with her humour make this workshop a great fun way to spend a day!
