Chomsky and Foucault

We want you, your juicy brain and your incorruptible spirit to come chuckle at sketch comedy inspired by a famous 1971 philosophy debate, and our 2026 urge to time travel and defeat evil ideas with good ones.

Chomsky and Foucault is a sketch hour from improv comedy pals and word-lovers Grin and Dandy about joyfully stacking it when taking merry leaps into the densely cited unknown. The show includes lighthearted jokes about seriously terrible stuff, a chance for low-effort revenge against the machine, and at least three puppets (but it's not a puppet show).

Bring your philosophers, philosibros, philosimothers and philosilovers. Your bros, mothers and lovers who don't even really like philosophy will enjoy it too.

Come watch local jokesters tackle the big themes with silly spectacle and jaunty schemes – for a proper cathartic laugh.

Grin and Dandy are the comedy duo, George Dimarelos and Demi Yeraki, previously nominated for the Improv Conspiracy's Best Team of 2023 as Geneva.

George is a standup comedian and actor, performing stand-up in tours and festivals all around the world. He also appeared on the Apple+ TV show Time Bandits.

Demi is an about town doodler, design-guy and improviser, performing with the Improv Conspiracy and also previously in ensembles at the Melbourne Fringe.
