Choose Welcome: Awards Evening & National Gathering for Australia's community sponsorship movement

The Community Refugee Sponsorship Australia team is delighted to invite you to join us for two exciting events in June 2026. Following our successful inaugural gathering in 2024, this year’s Gathering and Awards Night will be in Sydney with the theme ‘Choose Welcome’.  This year we’re thankful to have the University of Technology Sydney generously host these events at their venue Aerial at the Broadway campus.  

• Awards Night – 11 June (6.30 - 9pm) will be a night to celebrate the great work being done across Australia through community-led welcome with drinks, canapes and award presentations. Stay tuned for more information on the award categories and how to make nominations.  

• Full Day Gathering – 12 June (8.30am - 5pm) will be a full day of engaging discussions, panels, workshops and networking opportunities.  An opportunity for community supporter group members, newcomers, academics, sector stakeholders, experts and others to learn from one another and discuss the big topics of community sponsorship of refugees and how we work together to keep building a robust and multi-faceted community sponsorship movement with benefits for newcomers, their supporters and the Australian community.
