Chop [the top]

Hello!!

I am finally doing the damn thing and have my chest surgery booked for the 11th of July this year. As many of you are aware, this is an expensive (and exhausting) process, and access to gender affirming care is a challenge.
There have been many lengthy and in-depth conversations with myself and those close to me about the timing of this, and the internal battle of how important this is in comparison to the lives of others impacted by colonialism, until a dear friend said, "If you're going to show up in the revolution, we need you to be your full self." 
There is no comparison - we are not free until we are all free.

So, here I am.

Although I have saved a fair portion of this already, along with the generosity of the fullas at HoundHouse Tattoo in Meaanjin (Shout out to Kiah aka KTLpokes), I am reaching out to broader community to hopefully help me fill in the gaps.

In the off chance I happen to raise more than I need, I plan to pay this forward to a sistergirl and/or brotherboy on the same medical journey.

On the night you can expect a gentle beginning with soft readings, poetry and movement pieces, flowing into variety of performance works and a boogie to end.
There will be a large pool of items raffled off, and a silent auction.
As well as food to keep everyone full- VGO, GF, DF, NF.

No one turned away for a lack of funds. Raffle drawn on the night, $5 tickets or 3 for $10

This event will take place on the unceded lands of the Gadigal people, I pay my respects to their Elders both past and present. These lands, waterways and communities have been of great significance in my identity journey and will forever hold a deep love & connection to their teachings and offerings. To the blak trans community that has carved the way for me to be here, I will continue to stand on your shoulders for our future generations.

Accessibility:

• Ground floor of the Red Rattler Theatre is wheelchair and mobility aid accessible
  
• The Red Rattler is a licensed venue with both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages for purchase.
• Couches, cushions and comfortable seating will be supplied.
• All bathrooms are gender neutral.
• The space is not 100% scent-free- there will be a couple of air purifiers on the night.
• Sound will be adjusted to suit everyone as much as possible. If you require a space away from music/stimulation at any point, there will be a low sensory space made with signage for directions.
• Face masks, ear plugs and hand sanitiser will be available upon entry
