Event description

Prepare to fall in love all over again this August when Los Angeles-formed indie punks SPANISH LOVE SONGS head down under for a national headline tour. Renowned for their intimate lyricism and magnetic blend of punk, emo, alt rock earworms as much as they are for their emphatic live performances, these upcoming 2023 Australian shows will also coincide with the hotly anticipated release of their fourth studio album No Joy.

Kicking off on Saturday 19 August in Canberra, SPANISH LOVE SONGS will make their way to Sydney, Newcastle, the Gold Coast and Brisbane, before closing out this special tour on Friday 25 August in Melbourne on the very same day that No Joy unveils into the world.

Recently announcing their new album No Joy, SPANISH LOVE SONGS also unveiled a peek into the new sonic chapter for the band via the single Haunted. With 12 new songs in store, No Joy finds SPANISH LOVE SONGS grappling with the messiness of what it means to be alive in the modern age, while also embracing notions of finding happiness in any given moment, good or bad.

Forming in 2013, SPANISH LOVE SONGS have gone on to cultivate an ardent following. Renowned for their richly personal, no-holds-barred lyricism coated in existential dread, hyper-personal cultural ruminations and attempts to tackle some of life’s big questions, SPANISH LOVE SONGS remain equally hard-hitting and relatable.

Previously sharing stages with the likes of The Wonder Years and The Menzingers, SPANISH LOVE SONGS will also appear in 2023 at Slam Dunk Festival, as well as dates upcoming with Hot Mulligan.

To witness SPANISH LOVE SONGS live in action is to truly experience a moment in time unburdened by  ego and pulsating with earnest and hook-ready punk rock goodness – and Australia can be sure there will be some delightful new material to devour when the group hit our shores this August.
