MEET CHRIS

Chris Hammer is a leading Australian author of crime fiction. His first novel, Scrublands, was an instant bestseller when it was published in mid-2018. It won the prestigious UK Crime Writers Association John Creasey Award for best debut crime novel in 2019 and was shortlisted for various awards in Australia and the United States. Scrublands and subsequent books have been sold into translation in multiple languages, and made into a hit television series. His follow-up books—Silver (2019), Trust (2020), Treasure & Dirt (2021), The Tilt (2022), The Seven (2023), and The Valley (2024)—are also bestsellers, and all have been shortlisted for major literary prizes. Legacy is Chris' eighth book.

MEET SULARI

Sulari Gentill began her writing life with the multi-award-winning Rowland Sinclair Mysteries, ten historical crime novels (thus far) chronicling the life and adventures of her 1930s Australian gentleman artist. The first book in this series was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, and the second won the Davitt Award. Sulari's The Hero Trilogy is based on the myths and epics of the ancient world which have always intrigued her. In 2018, Sulari Gentill wrote her first departure from historical crime fiction and classical retellings, with a contemporary post-modern tale titled After She Wrote Him. The novel won the Ned Kelly Award and was shortlisted for the Davitt Award. Sulari’s second metafiction, The Woman in the Library, was published in 2022, and became a USA Today Bestseller. The Mystery Writer was released in 2024 and won the 2025 Mary Higgins Clark Award (US). Five Found Dead will be published in August 2025.
