Chrissy Bush Doo at Tanamon
Description
Experience a live music 2026 Chrissy party at one of the North Coast's most beautiful bush venues and enjoy a Northern Rivers line-up that will get you dancing, smiling and perhaps even moshing.
If you've never been to Tanamon, you're in for a treat of artistic expression from the sculptures that adorn the grounds to the infrastructure itself and the spectacular stage.
The inaugural Chrissy Bush Doo will feature 3 bands - The Smarmy Bastards, Human Dinosaur Machine and the yet-to-be-determined winner of the Tanamon Youth Battle of the Bands (which is happening 3 weeks prior).
The Smarmy Bastards' unique brand of funk, hip hop and rock has melted faces now for more than 27 years (with some long breaks in between). Bass driven grooves with blistering guitar chops, tight drums and melodic and percussive vocals bring an infectious vibe to Smarmies' shows. The latest run of shows in 2026 have proven that the younger generation are hitting the dancefloor in appreciation of these ageless grooves. Routinely filling dance floors and keeping crowds moving for the entire set - don't miss these gents in their element.
Human Dinosaur Machine promise a post punk rock spectacle that’ll knock your socks off! Picture crispy-fried pop and fluffy punk with denim frills and riffs that will worm their way into your brain forever. Fronted by a pure punk boss babe with a set of lungs that could wake the dead, HDM is a live music experience that’s as loud as it is wild! These humans are seasoned pros in keeping the heart of Punk beating, placing the vocally raw outfit between their own truth, humour and pain, and supporting this through intricate rhythms and wondrous melodies, both light and dark, just to keep you on your toes during a set. HDM’s writing motivation can be described as a brutalized, honest look at brains – with all the fun highs and crushing lows that come with personal well-being and issues surrounding mental health and growth.
“HDM are like caged tigers with broken teeth—too wild, too angry, too loud, too BIG! to be boxed into a recording studio. See ‘em live!!” - Rob Hirst, Midnight Oil
Winner - Tanamon Youth Battle of the Bands (Sponsored by Roches Family Hotel) - We can't wait to see who this is and possibly book them their first professional gig
DJ Steezy Duzit will be setting the mood with a smooth and eclectic blend of lounge grooves, instrumental funk, electro blues and other sonic curiosities. A warm-up selection for easing into the evening, loosening the hips and getting the space moving before The Smarmies and HDM hit the stage.
