    Event description

Join us to plant 3,300 native trees!

Trees That Count and the Bupa Foundation are partnering with Te Ara Kākāriki Canterbury Greenway Trust to plant native trees in Te Pae o Ahuriri, a project which will see previous sheep grazing land restored to life and create a native greenway connecting the Canterbury foothills with the sea and Lake Ellesmere.

Car parking will be along the roadside at the entrance to the site. The road is gravel for just over 1km up to the site. There is no footpath so care around traffic needs to be taken.

If you have them, please bring your own spade or gloves along with you. It is also recommended to wear long pants and sleeves to protect you from scratchy and irritating plants. Please also wear sturdy footwear (hiking or work boots are great) plus a hat and rain jacket.

We will provide lunch after the event along with hot drinks and juice, please bring drinking water with you in reusable water bottles and any snacks you might like for the morning.
