Come together to learn more about Christianity and the Holy Land, set against the backdrop of an exhibition telling the story of expulsion.

Jason Damouni, was born in New York but his family come from the village of Al-Damoun, a small Christian village between Nazareth and Haifa. His grandfather was displaced from his village during the 1948 Nakba and was never able to return. Jason has been working as a young entrepreneur in the renewable energy sector in Australia, Maldives and Saudi Arabia. Jason is also a sub-deacon in his local Melkite Catholic Church in Perth and is a knight of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem. In his free time, he advocates for a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He is constantly invited to speak on many political podcasts, forums and newspapers presenting the Palestinian Christian perspective. He advocates for a constructive dialogue between Israelis and Palestinians based on acknowledging both peoples’ legitimate connection to the land.
Jarrod McKenna is a peace award winning pastor and social change educator that ABC host and best selling author Dr Julia Baird has described as a “crucial and sorely needed voice in Australia… a reminder of the compassion and grace of Christ.” Jarrod is the Founding National Director of CommonGrace.org.au which represents over 50,000 Christians pursuing Jesus and justice, and was World Vision International’s first Nonviolent Social Change Advisor in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Jarrod helps pastor and lead Steeple Church of Christ in Melbourne, is co-host of the hugely popular InVerse Podcast with Dr Drew Hart, and is a co-founder of the global GazaCeasefirePilgrimage.com that has mobilised Christians on every continent in solidarity with Palestine to end this genocide.
Rev'd Sophia Lizares is a theologian, social scientist and journalist with extensive experience in Asian church and society. She currently serves the Uniting Church Kalamunda and St Martin's Foothills congregations and is a member of the Diakonia World Federation (DWF) Justice Committee.
The panel discussion is being moderated by John Na'em Snobar - a lawyer and former Australian diplomat who is now seriously considering the world’s problems. John is deeply invested in Australia’s spiritual maturity and well-being, John’s grandfather, Bishop Faik Ibrahim Haddad, was the first Palestinian Anglican Bishop of Jerusalem.
Together, these speakers bring different perspectives and wisdom to a challenging topic at a crucial time.
The gallery will be open all day, the event will start at 6pm starting with a choir performance. Proceeds from this event will be used by Palestinian Christians in Australia to help refugees arriving in Australia.
Online ticket holders will be emailed the link for the stream prior to the event, and will be able to watch the recording afterwards.
The in-person ticket includes some light appertisers. A cash bar will operate during the event.
