“Stirring voices that defy the capacity of the uninitiated to believe such a sound can emanate from so few people. The power, the beauty and the seamless integration of such a range of different voices is totally overwhelming.” — SeeSaw Magazine
ABOUT THE CONSORT:
The Giovanni Consort is Western Australia’s premier professional chamber choir, known for breath-taking performances of music ranging from the medieval period to the present day. We pride ourselves on presenting diverse and engaging musical programs in Western Australia’s beautiful performance spaces.
Led by Artistic Director, Nicholas Dinopoulos, the Consort has been performing for 30 years, with a track record of both delivering world-class music to our audiences and fostering many generations of singers and musicians. The Giovanni Consort is committed to celebrating the extraordinary talent of our West Australian musicians while sharing the joy of choral music and singing with new and old audiences alike.
Other recent highlights include performing alongside the Gesualdo Six in the 2020 Perth International Arts Festival, and the release of our debut album in 2019. A core principle in the group’s artistic mission is to develop and nurture professional choral singers in WA. As a result, many of Perth’s most notable singers have gained vital experience with the Consort, including Katya Webb, Taryn Fiebig, Andrew O’Connor and James Clayton.
