Australian Baroque is a national ensemble and early music initiative, formed at its core by WA-based artists. We are world-class players with a spirit of investigation and historical inspiration, bringing you stunning classical music programs, live concerts, and immersive projects. Some of our masteries include Vivaldi’s Four Seasons by Candlelights, Perth Summer Orchestra Camp, Margaret River Residency, Perth String Project and so much more!
The ensemble formed in December 2018 was resident Ensemble in Residence at the WA Academy of Performing Arts, ECU, recorded by ABC Classics and have a new Recital Hall home at 505 Newcastle St, thanks to their partnership with AHG.
Being part of the WA community is central to the aims of Australian Baroque. This is not just an orchestra for the concert hall. Our aim is to build significant and long-lasting ties with both regional and metropolitan communities, performing in galleries, schools, museums, Men’s Sheds, churches, cafes and town halls. Education is a core branch of our practice, and we have 2 young artists in our program as well as the residency at WAAPA.
The Directors of Australian Baroque are violinist Helen Kruger, flautist Andy Skinner and Finance Director Antony Brian. The team brings a wealth of experience performing, managing and studying in Australia, Europe and the UK.
