    PROSPECT'S THE PLACE TO BE THIS DECEMBER!

    Join us this December 8th for the BIGGEST Christmas in Prospect Community Fair to date! A huge thank you to the City of Prospect for their unwavering support. Their generosity allows us to continue spreading joy and fostering community pride throughout our little city each December and for the first time ever, we’re delighted to host this year’s Christmas Community Fair at the beautiful Blackfriars grassy school grounds along Prospect Road! 

    We’ve got so much in store to make this a truly unforgettable day for our community and a vibrant festive atmosphere filled with a variety of family fun activities and attractions for all ages!

    Here’s what you'll find:

    1. Christmas Festive Square - Stalls showcasing festive gifts, handcrafted items, decorations, and holiday treats. Shop small & support local. 
    2. Festive Multicultural Food and Drinks: Food vans showcasing multicultural foods. Greek, Italian, Vietnamese, French & Latino Food. Gourmet Burgers, Kransky's, freshly baked treats and more! Enjoy a drink or two from our Main Bar and we're showcasing our local Majella Wines! 
    3. Tasting and take aways: Meet 13 of SA's best Vintners, Brewers and Distilleries. You can then support then by enjoying a drink by them featured at our bar. 
    4. Live Entertainment: Christmas carols & performances from 2-4, live music by The Incredibles Band from 4-6pm &  DJ Tommy Tequila spinning House tunes as the last performance!
    5. Santa’s Christmas Cave: Gates open at 1.40pm, with chance for the families and children to witness Santa's spectacular arrival at 2pm accompanied by charity motorcyclists. Don't miss out on this vibrant celebrated moment with as Santa makes his way towards the stage, with the North Adelaide Footballers giving out treats to the kids! 
    6. Grand Official Opening - Our Prospect Mayor will officiate the opening of the event with lighting the 12ft Christmas Tree and a traditional Lions Dance which has been donated by our locals, Viva Institute. Witness this grand dance with two Lions, bringing happiness, good luck and prosperity to our event! 
    7. Professional Christmas Photos - Meet Santa for free from 2pm and share your Christmas wishes. And start a much loved tradition with an annual professional Christmas photo for $15 by our photographer Leo Tran. This will be open from 2.30-6pm
    8. Inaugural Car Show n Shine: A wonderful display of Vintage, Classic and Modern Vehicles. Awards given by our sponsors Level 1 Cycles and Powerhouse Gym to - Best car in show, Best Original Car and Best Bike in Show. Help us choose your favourite with our Peoples Choice Award - Best Car and Best Bike
    9. FREE Christmas Crafts: Hands-on activities where you can make your own decorations, ornaments. Free glitter hair braiding, glitter freckles, giant games, soft play, mini golf, lolly bags, bracelet making, badge-making too 
    10. Kids Activities: Face painting, glow fairy floss, lolly stalls, slime stall, show bag stalls, strength game, laughing clowns, kids festive crafts, and more! 
    11. Touch a Truck Display- Explore the Metropolitan Sunflower Firetruck & SA Police vehicles and build your own SA Power Truck from 2pm to 4pm
    12. Charity Stalls: Opportunities to support Prospect Lions Club by purchasing their Christmas cakes/puddings, a kransky, our local Regency Mens Shed by purchasing their wonderfully made Christmas decorations and homewares and Hope Theatre Company at their brightly coloured stall! 
    13. Close onsite parking: Find the entrance at the back of Blackfriars School Oval from Bradford Drive for a donation of $5! Bring your picnic rugs, chairs and make it evening you won't forget with our community! We have designated Disability Parking available at the Highbury Street carpark. 
    14. AND when you register for a free entry ticket, it enters you in the draw to WIN A CHRISTMAS HAMPER!

    PROGRAM OF EVENTS

    1.40PM Gates open

    2.00PM - Santa arrives in Vintage car, our Councillors and Special Guest open the event including the lighting of our 12ft Christmas Tree and a traditional Lions Dance

    2.30PM-4.00PM - Carols and performances by our Community. Hope Theatre Company, Island Hoppers (Prospect Primary Greek Community), Claire Sanders Dance School, 

    4.00pm-6.00PM - The Incredibles Band

    6.00PM-8.00PM - Dance your heart away to House tunes by DJ Tommy Tequila!

    8PM - MC's close the event

    8PM til late - After Party along Prospect Road with DJ Tommy Tequila continuing his tunes at Sideways Liquor. Wassil Bar, Cafe Di Roma and Sunnys will be open for some food, pizza and a few drinks to finish the night on a high note! And of course if you love sweet treats, Miss V has some viet sweets and Bottega Gelateria is the place for ice cream!

    QUESTIONS:

    Can I bring a chair or picnic blanket?

    Yes, please feel free to bring something to sit on (either a chair or a picnic blanket) Seating will be available through out the event, but we encourage you to bring your own and make yourself comfortable!

    What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

    Parking is available around the perimeter of Blackfriars School. No parking has been implemented along Bradford drive and one side of Richman Road. Disabled parking is available in the carpark entrance of Highbury Street. Please be considerate of our locals when you park. 

    Can I bring my own alcohol?

    Our event is licensed with no alcohol permitted into the premises. Drinks can be purchased on site.

    What are some of the free activities?

    Here's some of the FREE activities happening! Free glitter hair braiding with local business Curjo Hair, free friendship bracelet making with Lucy Hood MP, free Christmas bauble decorating and Christmas tree paper crafts with Powerhouse Gym, free art and crafts area with locals Clipboard Art Supplies, Giant Games, glitter freckles, Christmas decorations with Prospect Lions Club and mini golf!

    Are there low sensory areas?

    Yes, our Touch A Truck area is located in a low sensory area which will be activated from 2-4pm. Explore the Sunflower Hidden disability Fire Truck in the onsite carpark of Te Anau Ave.  

    Are dogs allowed on the premises? 

    Please note, the school does not allow dogs on the premises as they have a therapy assistant dog. Thank you for your understanding.

    Who is the live music? 

    Don't miss out on the Incredibles Band playing between 4-6 and then DJ Tommy Tequila spinning the tunes til close! He'll then be at Sideways Liquor (on Prospect Rd) to play tunes while you sip a few cocktails til late! Traders along Prospect Road - Sunny's, Wassil, Cafe Di Roma and Bottega Gelateria will be open for you to pop in for more food and drinks too! 

    What time is the Christmas Raffle winner drawn!

    Our raffle ticket will be drawn at 7pm with the winner needing to be there to receive the gorgeous Christmas Hamper! 

    What should I bring to prepare for the BEST CHRISTMAS EVENT EVER?!

    Bring chairs, and picnic rugs. A soft cooler bag with ice with reusable wine cups if you would like to purchase a bottle of Majella wine onsite!

    Sunscreen, a hat or a light wrap as the sun goes down.
