Description

Living with Chronic Pain?

Chronic pain can affect much more than physical comfort. It can influence your energy, sleep, mood, relationships, daily activities and confidence in doing the things that matter to you. Macedon Ranges Health’s free four-week Chronic Pain Program offers practical information, support and strategies to help you better understand your pain and feel more confident managing its impact on everyday life.

What to expect

Across four weekly group sessions, experienced health professionals will explore the different factors that can influence chronic pain and introduce realistic, evidence-informed approaches to self-management. Sessions include guided discussions, practical activities and opportunities to reflect on your own goals and experiences. You will also have the chance to connect with others who understand some of the challenges of living with persistent pain. While chronic pain may not always be completely eliminated, developing the right knowledge, skills and support can help improve daily function, participation and overall wellbeing.

Week 1 Wednesday 21 October 1-2.30pm: Understanding Pain, Sleep and Medication

Learn more about chronic pain, sleep, medication safety and working effectively with your healthcare team.

Week 2 Wednesday 28 October 1-2.30pm: Movement, Pacing and Everyday Activities

Explore safe movement, building confidence with activity, conserving energy and managing daily tasks without overdoing it.

Week 3 Wednesday 4 November 1-2.30pm: Nutrition and Chronic Pain

Discuss practical approaches to healthy eating, hydration, meal preparation and the evidence behind common pain-related nutrition advice.

Week 4 Wednesday 11 November 1-2.30pm: Mental Wellbeing and Moving Forward

Explore the relationship between pain, stress and mood, along with relaxation strategies, support networks and ways to maintain progress beyond the program.

Take the next step towards feeling more informed, supported and confident in managing life with chronic pain.
