CHURCH

What is “Church”?

What is “Faith”?

What is “Theater”?

This spring, join Lanes Coven indoors at the American Legion for CHURCH — a deeply comedic play that mimics a church service and invites its congregation on a wild, funny, and unexpectedly moving ride. Through ritual, reflection, and revelry, CHURCH blurs the line between theater and worship, asking us to question what we believe in, why we gather, and what it truly means to have faith.

Come prepared to laugh and to reconsider what “church” can be.

“Acclaimed playwright Young Jean Lee transforms her life-long struggle with Christianity into an exuberant church service. Both celebratory and confrontational, CHURCH will test the expectations of religious and non-religious alike—looking deep into why we believe what we believe.”
