Church Sound Australia: Mini Conference 2026 – Sydney

A half-day of encouragement, practical training and community for those serving in church sound and production.

Serving behind the sound desk is an important part of church life—but it can sometimes feel like you’re figuring things out on your own. Join us for a day to step back, be encouraged from God’s word, develop your skills and connect with others who share the joys and challenges of serving in church production.

Whether you’re a new volunteer learning the basics, an experienced sound operator, a music pastor or a worship team member, this conference is an opportunity to grow in confidence and consider how we can better serve our churches together.

What to expect:

• Encouragement from God’s word, helping us reflect on the purpose behind our ministry and why we serve.

• Practical seminars with insights you can take back to your own church.

• Time to connect with volunteers and ministry leaders from across Sydney and beyond.

• Conversations over lunch, with opportunities to ask our presenters about the challenges you’re facing.

• A Q&A panel with experienced leaders in church sound and worship ministry including Don Goldstein (PA Division Manager, Turramurra Music) and Greg Cooper (Worship Pastor - City on a Hill Melbourne East) and more.

• Demo gear and great lucky door prizes thanks to our partners!

Keynote speaker: Dan Le Cordier

Dan Le Cordier is a musician, worship leader and Associate Pastor – Worship at Forest Baptist Church. Dan will teach and inspire us from God’s word, encouraging us as we serve our churches through sound, music and production.

Practical seminars and presenters

Participants can select one of the following practical seminars to join:

• Sound mixing basics: Join Mat Stevens for a practical 101 seminar covering the basic essentials when it comes to creating a mix at church.

• Working as one: Join Greg Cooper as he explores the pastoral aspects of how sound teams can work well together and with musicians as a one team.

• Monitor mixing deep dive: Join Ben Thomas for a deep dive into monitor mixing - principles for foldback, wedges vs IEMs and how to help the band hear what they really need to.

Event details

• Date: Saturday 31 October 2026

• Time: Registration from 9:30am; sessions run from 10:00am to 2:00pm

• Location: St James Anglican Church, 15 King Street, Turramurra

• Tickets: $35 per person, helping cover the costs of running the conference ($20 for under 18s)

Coffee’s on us! Before heading to the church, drop into Turramurra Music between 9:15am and 9:30am to collect a free coffee voucher and grab a coffee on us.

Travelling from interstate? Free conference tickets are available for interstate attendees to help offset the cost of travelling to Sydney. Please get in touch to arrange yours.
