Discover how to create cinematic videos in fast-paced, real-world environments in this hands-on filmmaking masterclass with Melbourne-based director, cinematographer and photographer Joshua Nai.

Built around the Canon EOS R6 V, this practical session is designed for filmmakers, content creators and photographers who want to shoot with greater speed, confidence and creativity. Learn how to build a lightweight run-and-gun setup, make the most of available light, adapt to changing conditions and capture footage with a cinematic finish in mind.

The session begins at 12:45pm at Camera House Melbourne, where you'll meet Joshua and the Canon team before heading out on a guided photo walk. Working in real-world locations, you'll put the techniques into practice as you shoot on location, before returning to the store to wrap up the session with final insights and questions.

Joshua will also introduce the fundamentals of colour grading, showing you how to transform well-shot footage into a polished visual story while developing a faster workflow from capture through to post-production.
