This multi-generational "Un-conference" Cultural Café will bring people together for an inclusive and interactive day of shared vision, learning, dialogue, and action. Hear from, and engage with inspiring speakers and fellow attendees. Experience our cultural mercado while supporting local BIPOC and LGBTQ2S+ vendors & creatives selling unique art, jewelry, and more!

Esteemed Café Speakers -

Ashley Cornelius (she/her) is the Pikes Peak Region Poet Laureate. She is a nationally recognized and multi-award-winning spoken-word poet, facilitator, cultural worker, and keynote speaker.

Nora Alwah (she/her) is a TEDx speaker, somatic psychotherapist, and coach, as well as an unshakable anti-oppression advocate.

Dra. Carla Macal (she/her/ella) focuses her research on the intersections between state violence and intergenerational healing. She is a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Gender and Women’s Studies at Pomona College.

YAMZ: World of Color, Denver-based Artist Brayan Montes-Terrazas, using art and design as the vessel to show others that they are not alone in the fight toward equity justice and sound mental health. He is driven by the essential need to tell the stories of his identity as an undocumented, queer person of color.

Ixoq Arte, is a small-batch natural body care product creation, with the idea of reusing and recycling ingredients for our self-preservation. Inspired by Maya ancestry and womxn of color using herbs to treat ailments, Ixoq Arte uses herbal medicine and traditions as a way to decolonize from the medical-industrial complex.

Serene Terrence Candle Co., founded by Amira Scott, is a Black, queer woman-owned business creating 100% soy-wax hand-poured candles with smells and colors to spark cherished memories, inspire you, and bring peace to your mind.

Dulceria Marisa, is a unique gift shop for you to surprise your loved ones. Owner Marisa Flores is a passionate Latina entrepreneur, and her small business specializes in creating beautiful and delicious breakable hearts, chocolate and candy-dipped sweets that are perfect for any occasion.

Ana Marina Studio, a jewelry designer and metalsmith based in Denver. Ana Marina’s journey as an immigrant in the U.S. has allowed her to explore and shape her identity as a Mexican American woman. She believes jewelry is a form of adornment that creates its own language, capable of communicating personality and individuality. Through her art, Ana Marina seeks to create meaningful connections to inspire meditation, awareness, and empowerment with each piece.

Mexico en la Piel Boutique, has a mission to make sure people have a high quality option to be comfortable while also looking elegant. Mexico en la Piel Boutique wants to continue and grow the Guayabera tradition for a younger generation of people, while at the same time engaging in fair trade with talented local artisan tailors who hand make our products in small batch production runs to order for ultimate quality.

WBA Art LLC, run by CEO Waladi Ali who was born in Denver in August of 2000. He is a visual artist, graphic designer, 2-D art forms, and digital art. He tells his stories through his art to be "deeply personal" and "vibrant". His current focus through his art is to elevate the seemingly mundane moments of human life, and to tell his stories honestly and wholeheartedly.
