Circular Monday on Tap + Official Circular Economy Club Melbourne Launch Night
Description
Circular Economy Club Melbourne | November Networking Event and Official Launch
Date: Monday 23 November
Time: From 5:30 pm
Location: Good Nature Hotel, Federation Square, Melbourne
This month, Circular on Tap comes to Melbourne with a twist (or two)!
First up, this event marks the official launch of the newly revived Circular Economy Club Melbourne! We’re keen to grow a welcoming circular social for everyone working in, curious about or connected to the circular economy space in Melbourne, and we’d love you to be part of it from the very start.
Our launch also falls on Circular Monday, a day dedicated to celebrating the circular economy and showcasing the people, businesses and ideas helping us move away from a take-make-waste model towards a more circular future.
To celebrate, we’re mixing things up! Alongside relaxed networking, we’ll be inviting members of Circular Economy Club Melbourne to give short pitches about their circular businesses, projects and ideas. It’s a chance to discover exciting initiatives, share inspiration and connect with others who are passionate about making the circular economy happen.
Meet people. Share ideas. Build a more circular Melbourne.
A circular venue for a circular celebration
We’re heading to Good Nature Hotel, the new pub and beer garden in the heart of Fed Square! Right in the middle of the city and steps from Flinders Street Station, it’s easy to reach by train, tram, bike or on foot.
Good Nature Hotel is part of Australian Venue Co (AVC), which has a sustainability strategy built around three pillars: energy, waste and plastics. On waste, AVC is working towards a culture focused on circularity, separating streams like organics, cardboard and paper, commingled recycling and container deposit scheme returns. On plastics, they’re taking a “Remove, Reduce, Replace” approach to phase out soft plastics and single-use items, including switching many venues to reusable food containers in their kitchens.
That makes it a great place to think about how circularity can be put into practice, from where the food and drink comes from, to the packaging and glassware moving through the system, to what happens to the resources left over at the end of the night.
Come along, connect, and bring a friend!
Whether you’re a long-time member of the circular community or joining us for the first time, everyone is welcome. Feel free to bring a friend or colleague who’s curious about the circular economy. The more perspectives, the better!
And a little reminder: although we’re meeting at a pub, there’s absolutely no pressure to drink alcohol. Come for the conversations, connections and circular inspiration. There’s no need to drink to be part of the fun.
We can’t wait to see you there for the launch of Circular Economy Club Melbourne and a special Circular Monday edition of Circular on Tap!
