The event is rescheduled to be held on the 8th May2024. The original scheduled day was the 30th April 2024.

We came across some key gaps in the way councils and public sector organisations develop their plans to transition towards a circular economy.

Waste and resource recovery strategy is simply extended or modified to come up with a circular economy strategy
There is minimal focus on influencing upstream activities in the city/region
A holistic look at the council (as an organization) and the relevant city/region’s production and consumption system is missing
There is a misconception that close looping the material within the region is achieving circularity

Introducing "Developing strategic plans to move towards a circular economy," a short training program for public sector organisations, specifically for local government organisations/councils in answer to the above key gaps.

Designed to address the pressing need for solutions, this program is tailored to empower professionals within the public sector with the knowledge and tools necessary to lead the transition towards a circular economy.

Through a series of engaging sessions, case studies, and hands-on exercises, participants will embark on a transformative journey towards embedding principles of circular economy in the domain of strategic planning. Our program provides a comprehensive approach, delving into both theoretical frameworks and real-world applications, along with strategies for organizational change.

The participants will be able to:

Uncover the core principles of circular economy as it apply to your local context as a system of production and consumption
