Join The ReCreators for this 8 week circular woodworking design programme for pre-teens and teens aged 10-15 years at St Stephen Presbyterian Church. Participants will learn how to safely use drills, impact drivers, jigsaws and sanders as well as a variety of hand tools.
This course is about fun, sustainability and skill-building and will include using basic power tools and hand tools to make and create with wood.
Project options could include:
Creative artwork
Canvas Frame & painting
Mini table/ chair (free design tabletop)
Planter box/ Toolbox
Free Design
Who is this workshop designed for?
This woodworking workshop is suitable for children aged 10+ years. Children must be able to listen and follow instructions carefully.
Please let us know if you child has any behavioural issues the tutor would need to know about. If your child is not good at listening or able to follow instructions carefully then discuss with us first.
What to bring?
All materials are included in the fee. Children do need to bring a water bottle and food for the class.
Safety:
The workshops have a maximum of 8 students. The instructions for using the tools and equipment are clearly outlined and demonstrated by the tutor.
The participants will be using woodworking and power tools. The workshop includes the use of power drills, power sanders, a jigsaw, hammers, nails and impact drivers.
Notes:
1. All participants must wear old clothes, covered shoes and non-flowing clothing (tight-ish!). Some work may be outdoors, please wear clothes appropriate for the weather conditions.
2. Participants need to arrive on time for health and safety briefing reasons.
When: Every Monday from 16 October to 11 December, 4pm - 6pm (No Class on Monday 23 October)
