BUILDING A PERFORMANCE
with Guest Trainer Jill Watkins
Saturday 9th January & Sunday 10th January

$90 Two Days / $70 Concession

From Jill......."Working with the notion that participants of circus workshops have the ideas to create the content for performances is where I like to start from. I aim to provide the platform to bring ideas into the space and we build from there. Creating a safe place to be able to express ideas and feel free to explore creative development options is what I love to do. Any performance I really enjoy are shows where I can see the performer ‘own’ the content and be connected with the other performers and elements on stage.

I am passionate about building the group who are working together as a way to build performance confidence and to create a show the audience wants to see again. Skills and tricks are one element of performance; transitions, presence, dynamics on stage, confidences and performers enjoying being on stages are all the ‘bits’ I like to explore."

CREATIVE & AERIAL MOVEMENT

$15 Creative Movement only / $10 Concession
$20 Aerial Movement only / $15 Concession (NB: Please come early and do your own warm up)

Trainers: Sarah Fitzgerald (Movement) & Nichola Hall (Aerial Movement)

Creative Movement
is a playful investigation into how we connect with our bodies. It incorporates games, improvisation scores and choreography to get you moving from both within and outside of your natural rhythm. This class is designed for circus people who would like to bring more flow and new path-ways to their art, and for anyone who likes to dance.
Aerial Movement is a class exploring the space between the tricks. Utilizing movement techniques, dynamics and whole body connection to unlock expression, dance and freedom of movement in the air. Classes are for intermediate/advanced level students; basic trick vocabulary and strength to stay in the air for a few minutes is necessary. We will cover sequences on both static trapeze and aerial silk.

These workshops can be taken individually however as they are interconnected through the concepts explored we encourage you to come to enjoy both.
