The City and Country Clubs Council’s Executive Board invites you to the Council’s annual spring

meeting for education, networking with fellow professionals to share problem solving ideas and best

practices. Please find in the pages the following information pertaining to this spring meeting, and

the tentative agenda.

This year, the Council is being co-hosted by a country club and a city club, in Boston MA.

The Country Club is the oldest Country Club in the country, founded in 1882. The Country Club is not

only the oldest country club in the United States; it is one of the largest in the Northeast. Nestled on

236 acres of land, just a few miles from Boston, the club offers year-round dining, functions and

sporting activity with numerous sporting facilities including 27 holes of golf, 5 indoor tennis courts, 4

outdoor tennis courts, 6 paddle courts, an outdoor aquatic’s facility, 4 sheet curling rink, fitness

center, 2 skeet shooting fields, skating & hockey facility and 5 guest rooms.

The Harvard Club was founded in 1908 as a city club and today is distinguished as a Platinum Club.

Its mission is to be a social, intellectual, and athletic hub of Harvard alumni and affiliated community

in the Greater Boston area.

Founded in 1908, the Harvard Club offers

dining, event space, squash, and hotel rooms.

Your Council Board hopes that you can join in what is planned as a worthwhile education and

networking with fellow counterparts from around the country.

• Golf – Afternoon - Optional
• Cocktails and welcome Address – 5pm to 6:30pm at The Harvard Club
• Transportation provided to The Country Club at 6:30pm
• Dinner – 7pm at The Country Club
• Transportation provided to The Harvard Club at the conclusion of dinner.
Monday – April 8th
• Breakfast at The Harvard Club – 7:15am to 8:00
• AM – Education Session – 8:00am to 12:00pm
o Education Kevin MacDonald

Kevin MacDonald is a coach, a facilitator, a communicator, a storyteller, and a teacher. With over ten years of experience coaching executives from organizations around North America, he initiates action from within the people he touches.

As a facilitator and communicator, Kevin uses humor and wisdom to help his clients crystallize their thinking, define success, and live their ideal lives with passion and balance. His focus is on elevating the professionalism and the lives of the people he works with. Kevin speaks from the heart with warmth and humor.

Robert Olson + Associates was established in 1985 to serve the needs of communities and institutions. We have developed our practice from an architectural firm focused primarily on building design into an interdisciplinary design firm providing institutional planning and programming, architecture, and landscape architecture.

Environments serve the needs of individuals and the community through the art of building: to create welcome and repose, to unite use with beauty, to convey dignity and security, to give comfort and pleasure, and to create new places founded in common language, awareness of the past, and confidence in the future.

Rob will provide an overview of how his firm approaches each project., with commitment to learning and understanding the people for whom they build for, and to achieving through practice an understanding and knowledge providing an integrated and fully responsive design to serve them.

o Education Kristen attended Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI, graduating with an associate degree in culinary arts and Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Service Management. Upon graduation, Kristen became an Assistant Manager at TCC. Kristen became Club Manager in October 2007, Assistant General Manager in January 2013, and assumed the position of General Manager in October 2020. She became a Certified Club Manager in November 2009. Kristen has served as President of the New England Club Managers Association and is an active committee member of the National Club Association. Kristen has taught classes as a guest speaker & panelist at local universities and national conferences.

Wednesday April 10th
• Breakfast at The Harvard Club – 7:15am to 8:00

o Council Meeting with all attendees – 9:45am to 11:45am
• Box Lunch – 12pm
• Departure starting at 12pm
