Join us at the exclusive premiere screening of City-Bay: 50 Years and Running, THE FILM.

This fun-filled historical documentary celebrates the significant 50th anniversary of the much-loved City-Bay Fun Run.

See you on Wednesday, 4 September, at Wallis Piccadilly from 6.30 pm for a drink and a snack provided by our sponsors, Chaffey Bros Wine and Vilis Family Bakery. The screening will start at 7.30 pm (sharp), followed by a brief Q&A session with the director and special guests.

This premiere screening precedes the official release of this documentary at Wallis Piccadilly Cinema from 5 - 14 September. You can book those sessions online here.

City-Bay Celebrates 50 Years with a New Landmark Documentary, ‘City-Bay: 50 Years and Running, THE FILM’

In anticipation of the City-Bay Fun Run on 15 September, we proudly announce the premiere of City-Bay: 50 Years and Running, THE FILM.

Building on the warmly received and highly engaging documentary screened on the Nine Network Adelaide in July, this feature-length documentary delves into the rich and colourful history of this iconic Adelaide event. City-Bay: 50 Years and Running, THE FILM includes new, never-before-seen interviews, stories, and topics not covered in the TV version. The documentary will be shown at the nostalgic Wallis Piccadilly Cinema from 4 to 14 September.

Award-winning director Johnny Taranto shared that it quickly became apparent during production that the City-Bay story could not be fully captured in just half an hour. "We've created a feature-length documentary to honour the event's unique local history and much-loved status. It's been a joy to bring these untold, unusual, and often funny stories to the screen," he said.

The City-Bay Fun Run holds a special place in the hearts of Adelaide residents, with over 800,000 participants having taken part over the years. It is the most popular fun run in the world on a per-capita basis, reflecting the vision and determination of its founder, Bob Clarke, who started the event in 1973.

"We hope this film not only entertains but also inspires and brings people together, especially on the second Sunday of September, to run or walk from the city to the bay!"
