City of Armadale Befriend Community Series 2024
Event description
Come along and join Befriends Community Enrichment Facilitator for this series of nine, fortnightly workshops, as you go on a journey of self-discovery and development, in the good company of your fellow local community members. Register for one, or all sessions, it's completely up to you.
Across the first half of 2024, you’ll have the opportunity to explore how to befriend yourself, just as you are, as you take time to learn about the art of befriending yourself, others, and your community. You’ll be guided in creative activities, reflections, and group discussions to help you to discover or rediscover your core values and core gifts.
Towards the end of the first six workshops there’ll be time dedicated to creatively mapping out how you might like to share your gifts with your community. This sharing of your gifts may be something as simple as getting to know your neighbour or launching your own local community-based project. The choice is yours.
Beyond the initial six workshops, you might like to continue and join us for a three-session series on Cultivating Friendship. These workshops happen in an inclusive group where you’ll be guided in the arts of mindful listening and speaking and compassionate interpersonal communication. You’ll have the opportunity to practice and hone your conversation skills to help in sparking new, or reinvigorating old, friendships.
If you’d like to continue to grow your connections with the participants you meet in these series’, in an informal way, we will be hosting “A Place to Connect” in the week between each workshop. You can join in at the same venue and time.
