Join us on our CitySwitch end of the year network event at the beautiful Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron, celebrating our journey through the net zero pathway. There will be an Inspiring Panel with David McEwen and Mick Liubinskas talking about “How are we reimagining industries and creating change for a Net Zero future?” You will also have time to network with other businesses to share your net zero journey and talk about challenges, achievements and learnings towards net zero targets and emission reduction goals.

David McEwen is a Director at Adaptive Capability, providing climate risk and net-zero emissions strategy, program and project management. He works with businesses, community leaders, policy makers, designers and engineers to deliver impactful change. He has an extensive background in property, including a stint as head of occupier sustainability for Colliers International and as a member of the technical advisory group that developed the NABERS data centre rating tool. His book, Navigating the Adaptive Economy, was released in 2016, exploring the many ways society and businesses will be affected by the physical and transitional impacts of a changing climate. David is also assisting Kylea Tink, Federal MP for North Sydney, to develop a strategy, policies, tools, engagement and communications to help accelerate emissions reduction across buildings, transport and industry within her electorate.

Mick Liubinskas is a climate tech investor and advisor. He co-founded Climate Salad to help build climate-focused startups and help the world get to and beyond net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. He has helped build 100’s of tech companies as a co-founder and with Pollenizer, Startmate, muru-D and Austrade, evaluating 1,000’s of ideas, building first products, getting first customers, launching globally, raising capital, closing businesses, selling businesses and all the emotional rollercoaster rides in between. Mick also wrote a novel to inspire teenage girls into the world of STEM, called She’s Building A Robot. It is accompanied by a series of interviews with women with careers in robotics, technology, science and maths.

Event is free, open to CitySwitch Members and office-based businesses who are interested in joining the program.

The Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron is located at the end of Peel Street and can be accessed by a 6 minutes walk from Kirribilli Wharf or 15 minutes walk from Milsons Point Train Station. If you plan to drive, there are also limited carpark spots available inside the venue.
