Citywater in Concert at Theater 5150

For several years, we’ve wanted to host Citywater at Theater 5150 and we finally have that opportunity January 11th! Citywater is Sacramento’s only ensemble dedicated to contemporary classical music. They strive to charm and challenge their audiences with the newest music written and to “fold Sacramento into the fabric of new American music history writ large.” Their music can be lovely and accessible, genre-defiant and challenging. It is always fascinating and rewarding. Made up of Ben Prima on all things percussion, Jennifer Reason on piano, Amy Lindsey on violin, Timothy Stanley on cello, Milun Doskovic on clarinets of all sizes, and Cathie Apple on flutes of varying lengths and pitches, Citywater is the Sacramento State School of Music's Ensemble-in-Residence and has collaborated with student composers, featured guest composers at the long-running Festival of New American Music, and soloists from musical realms as far-reaching as blues guitar, jazz vocals, and a Capella choir. This will be an evening to remember!
