Event description

Zoe's Blackheath presents another exciting show featuring Cameron (CJ) Hendersen, Luke Webb and Oliver Morley-Sattler. The evening will have a folky/Country flavour, and will be a great opportunity to wind down on a Friday night!

CJ Stranger is rapidly carving out a distinctive place in the Australian music landscape with his unique blend of indie rock and alt-country. He released critically acclaimed album ‘Hey Stranger’ in 2020 and now returns in 2022 with new music in jangly rocker ‘You May Run’ and reflective folk song ‘Start Diggin’. With a promise of a new album on the horizon Stranger, (the alter-ego of session guitarist Cameron Henderson) continues to keep us engaged with his unique Australian songcraft  and constantly searching guitar style.

Oliver (Oli) Morley-Sattler is a staple name on the local music scene, his authentic style of performance is as endearing as it is professional. Oli is a talented multi-instrumentalist, and has a firm grasp on all aspects of composition. Having grown up in the mountains, Oli can be seen busking, and performing with any number of different groups he is involved in. Chances are you have heard him play before, but maybe not like this?

With one foot planted firmly in the past, the other in the present, singer and guitar slinger Luke Webb plays both kinds of music - country and western. His set is a smorgasbord of clawhammer banjo, spirituals, and barroom classics that pay tribute to Hank, Willie, Johnny, and more. You'll hear tunes plucked straight from the Anthology of American Folk Music and perhaps others from his childhood upbringing in North Carolina. Grab your hat and dancing shoes and come to his show before someone asks, 'o brother, where were thou'?
