Stella Anning Quartet (MEL, TAS) @ CLARENCE JAZZ FESTIVAL 2025

A versatile guitarist, singer/songwriter, composer and performer, Stella Anning is continually seeking
for innovative sounds across genres. With an established background in jazz and composition,
Stella’s practice has recently expanded to incorporate the songwriter genre and aesthetic in her work.
A part of a new generation of jazz in Melbourne, Stella’s new work is a reflection of the diversity of
artists and artistic practice coming out of Naarm/Melbourne. Her four-piece ensemble blends jazz,
soul, and indie influences, creating a rich tapestry of sounds and emotive themes that captivate
listeners and invite them into a deeply engaging musical experience.

Stella Anning is set to release her powerful new single Fair on Him, a haunting track that tackles themes of accountability and inequity in the music industry. This latest release
provides a first glimpse into Stella’s forthcoming album, Yellow Brick Veneer, set for release later in 2025.

This special single release is the first preview off her new album, debuting in Nipaluna (Hobart) at the Clarence Jazz Festival. Joining Stella is Kelly Ottaway on vibraphone/keys, Sasha Gavlek on bass and Kyrie Anderson (Naarm/ Melbourne) on Drums.
