Clarence Jazz Festival: Master Classes - Konrad Park 'Stickrad'

This year we are introducing mind-melting masterclasses to the Festival program, offering participants the opportunity to delve deep into jazz with one of Tasmania’s jazz masters. Master classes will be open to musicians of any level for an intensive 90 minutes of music within the beautiful sandstone walls of Rosny Barn.

7.30pm              Konrad Park ‘Stickrad’ Masterclass - An invitation to you from Konrad Park aka Stickrad, to see and hear how the stick is played and to discover what new music he has composed on this stringed tapping instrument. Stickrad will showcase the instrument’s capability by introducing you to the stick for the first time, hoping to dispel some of the myths associated with the newest member of the string family.

Stickrad will highlight the contributions of some key players in the international community of stickists, as well as performing some of his recent compositions in a stick and drum duo.
