Class 7 - Expressive Life Drawing With Michael Herron 15 June - 10 am
Event description
In this class, we will explore form, proportion, and composition by sketching the unclothed figure in a variety of short and long poses, focusing on developing your personal approach to line, shape, and composition. We will begin with quick guided exercises to loosen up, then move through a series of short 1–5 minute poses. This will be followed by a 15-minute pose focused on expressive line and tonal drawing, and we’ll finish with a longer 30-minute pose, where you may choose to incorporate colour if you wish.
There will be time for two short breaks, and the class will conclude with a brief critique, where you’re welcome to share your work if you feel comfortable.
This class is suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced artists. It’s designed to inspire, instruct, and surprise within a safe, supportive environment. The workshop strikes a balance between careful observation and creative expression, offering a space for you to develop your skills and explore your personal artistic journey.
