Monash Health offers a comprehensive full-day childbirth education session for first time parents birthing at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton.
Please book a program at the hospital that you are birthing at only.
The program is conducted face to face at the hospital, over one Saturday. This session will be facilitated by a midwife educator, offering the opportunity for asking questions and discussions.
We encourage you and your partner or support person to attend.
The program aims to cover topics such as:
What is labour
When to call the hospital
Things the birthing woman and their support person can assist them with in labour - at home and in the hospital
Informed Consent and refusal
Medical options for pain relief in hospital
Medical intervention and care
Newborns and communication
Breastfeeding
Early parenting
Safety at home
We recommend you book as soon as possible and select and pay for a program that is conducted when you are around 28-34 weeks pregnant. All bookings are through Humanitix. Please complete the booking using the birthing woman's name. You and your partner are encouraged to attend. Cost $150.00/ticket. One ticket is for two people.
The session runs from 08.30am - 4.00pm and will be held at Monash Medical Centre Seminar room ER21. Please meet at THE MEETING POINT next to Little Henrys Cafe.
