Event description

Monash Health offers a comprehensive full-day childbirth education session for first time parents birthing at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton.

Please book a program at the hospital that you are birthing at only.

The program is conducted face to face at the hospital, over one Saturday. This session will be facilitated by a midwife educator, offering the opportunity for asking questions and discussions.

We encourage you and your partner or support person to attend.

The program aims to cover topics such as:

  • What is labour
  • When to call the hospital
  • Things the birthing woman and their support person can assist them with in labour - at home and in the hospital
  • Informed Consent and refusal
  • Medical options for pain relief in hospital
  • Medical intervention and care
  • Newborns and communication
  • Breastfeeding
  • Early parenting
  • Safety at home

We recommend you book as soon as possible and select and pay for a program that is conducted when you are around 28-34 weeks pregnant. All bookings are through Humanitix. Please complete the booking using the birthing woman's name. You and your partner are encouraged to attend. Cost $150.00/ticket. One ticket is for two people.

The session runs from 08.30am - 4.00pm and will be held at Clayton Hospital, Tarella Road, Clayton.

If you are part of a Continuity of Care Experience, please contact us before inviting your midwife to any program.
