Tangaroa Blue and Westgate Biodiversity are joining the celebration of our living waterway by getting our hands dirty for Birrarung and we want you to come along!

Join us for a meaningful day of Littler Clean Up by the river to help reduce pollution flowing into the Yarra, Birrarung. Our meeting point is by the Punt Pier (view map), which is one of the last accessible points of the river before it connects to the sea.

Please note:

There are no public toilets at the site. Closest public toilets are in Westgate Park, accessing via Todd Road. There are no drinking fountains or tabs in the area so we recommend you bring your own water bottles.

Accessibility:

For those who want to join us in the clean up by the river, the access to the river shore is through a rocky mildly step pathway. However, there is a bike path in the area, and people with limited mobility can help us clean the sides of that path. We cannot guarantee wheelchair or pram accessibility. Riverfest welcomes everyone—we’re committed to making our events accessible and inclusive for people of all abilities. If you have accessibility needs and require support to attend, please email andrea@westgatebiodiversity.org.au

Acknowledgement of Country

The Yarra Riverkeeper Association acknowledges that the lands and waterways of the Yarra, Birrarung catchment, are the unceded territories of the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung and Bunurong peoples. We pay respect to Traditional Owners, who have, and continue, to care for Country. We acknowledge that the river now called Yarra has always been known as the Birrarung by its custodians.
