Clean Up Australia Day with YHA

Join YHA Cairns at Parley Australia's 'Clean-up Australia Day' beach clean-up event on 5th of March and clean up Kukujum (Ellie Point). With an early 7 am start, we will finish at 11:30 am. Snacks and drinks and all clean-up equipment are provided. 

According to the Facebook event, 'Dawul Wuru Aboriginal Corporation’s Yirrganydji Land and Sea Program are teaming up with Cairns Airport and Parley Australia to protect marine life from plastic pollution washed up on the city’s closest beach. Access to this area is usually restricted so this is a good opportunity to visit this area that is very important to the Yirrganydji team. Get to know them and learn about the work they do to protect Country.

Meet the YHA team at reception at 7am and we will organize transport to and from the clean-up location. 

Please bring closed shoes, a reusable water bottle, weather-protective clothing, and a hat.
